Role Description: Deputy Contingent Leader (Operations)

Deputy Contingent Manager – Operations will be responsible for the transportation of equipment between Trinidad and Tobago, and the Jamboree site.

Head of Contingent, Contingent Management Team, Troop Leaders

Main Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the shipment of equipment to Jamboree Site and back
  • Work with the Troop Leaders to compile an equipment List
  • Procures the necessary equipment for the contingent
  • Co-ordinates the Pre and Post Jamboree activities
  • Develops a strategy to ensure a consistent standard for all troops

Appointment Requirements

  • Troop Leader at previous Jamboree Event
  • Experience in transportation of equipment within or outside ScoutsTT

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience coordinating scouting activities
  • Experience at International Scouting Events
  • An understanding of the History of Scouting in Trinidad and Tobago
  • Experience working in teams at a management level (Essential)
  • Track record of managing multiple tasks with strong planning and organisation skills (Essential)
  • Professional Procurement and Logistics experience would be an asset

Role Description: Deputy Contingent Leader (Administration)

Deputy Contingent Leader – Administration will be responsible for record keeping and file management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Minute and Distribute to members of the CMT
  • Manages the application process for the members of the contingent working alongside the Troop Leaders and Deputy Contingent Leaders
  • Manages the Contingent Email Address and directs queries where necessary
  • Manages the accounts of the Contingent. Reporting to the HoC on the amount of funds collected and spent by the contingent
  • Carries out any other functions or duties as required by the HoC

Appointment Requirements

  • Experience in administration of large groups
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Available for the full Jamboree and post-camp

Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience coordinating scouting activities
  • An understanding of the History of Scouting in Trinidad and Tobago

Deputy Contingent Manager – Support Services will be responsible for the physical and mental wellbeing of the Contingent. The incumbent will also be responsible for the recruitment of ScoutsTT members interested in becoming IST.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develops strategies to support all members of the Contingent
  • Recruits, co-ordinates and promotes the participation of ScoutsTT young leaders as IST’s
  • Guides IST members to choose and shortlist their Job choices
  • Acts as a point of contact for ScoutsTT IST’s
  • Plans and implements crisis response for the Contingent
  • Carries out any other functions or duties as required by the HoC

Appointment Requirements

  • Knowledge of shipping and Transportation networks
  • Experience in shipping equipment either within or outside ScoutsTT
  • Experience with Procurement procedures

Experience and Knowledge

  • IST member at a previous Jamboree Event
  • Experience in Welfare and pastoral care at similar events within or outside Scouting (Desirable)
  • Having training in a recognised crisis management discipline (Essential)
  • Track record of managing multiple tasks with strong planning and organisation skills (Essential)
  • Professional Procurement and Logistics experience would be an asset
